How are the EMG RC Hulls made?
We build our hulls just like real boat. Gelcoat, resin, and hand laid fiberglass.
Do you sell top sides or caps for the hulls?
We are working on designing caps and topsides for our most popular styles. Sign up for our email newsletter to be notified when they become available.
Can I customize the color of the hull?
Yes, custom colors are available upon request at an additional fee. Email us at thecaptandthekid@gmail.com to inquire before placing your order. Custom colors are final sale.
Can you build a replica of my boat?
We have various hull styles available and are adding new models all the time. We may have something similar to your vessel that we can customized. Email us a photo of what you're looking for and we can go from there.
What is your return policy?
If you're not happy with your hull, send it back to us for a refund, minus the cost of shipping. All hulls must be unused and unmodified. Custom colors may be subject to final sale.
Do you build completed RC models?
We only build completed models on a very limited basis. Custom projects may be commissioned on a case by case basis and range from $5,000-$10,000. We may also advertise specific completed models on our social media. Reach out to us at thecaptandthekid@gmail.com to inquire about the availability of commissioned projects.
Do you sell any RC Hull molds?
No.
Can you help me build out my RC model?
These projects are for you to enjoy building on your own! We have a ton of resources for you including how-to tutorials and recommended products lists on our website and social media.
Is the Tuna Boat "Thunder" for sale?
No - Thunder is a family heirloom and you could probably buy a real boat for what she is worth to us.
Where do you ship your products?
Currently we only ship within the United States.
How much is shipping?
Shipping ranges from $20.00 - $100.00 depending on how many hulls are ordered and how far they are traveling.
Do you offer local pick up?
Yes - if you are in the Palm Beach County area, you can select "Local Pick Up" at check out to save on shipping. We will notify you within 24 hrs of your model being completed to schedule a pick up time.
How long does it take to receive my hull?
Lead time is usually 3 weeks or less. We do have some hulls in stock but most are custom made to order.
What kind of power does my boat require?
Each model is specific to its power needs and desired speeds. Visit our power accessories page for our recomendations or shoot us an email for model specifics.
